June 2010 - I've just got back from Florence Italy and can tell you when it comes to great tailored suits the Brits still rule!
Piiti Uomo Florence June 2010
Pitti Uomo is a leading "trade" only exhibition for mens fashion held in wonderful Florence, Italy. Its a great exhibition for me to personally go to, so I can see what some of the leading high street brands are doing for the coming seasons.
The Italians are great at providing stylish summer jackets/blazers to be worn with casual trousers, such as chino's, jeans or more formal trousers. Italian light weight fabrics and some stylish designs were really working well together and looked very cool.
The Japanese were there in force too and some of their suits and jackets were very inventive and stylish, you can see their is a real British influence in their tailoring.
This nicely leads me on to the Brits! Wallking round a trade exhibition looking at high end mens fashion may sound great fun, but when its hot, busy and you've got two days of doing this, I can tell you it'a not as much fun as it might first seem! I had already been there for 3 to 4 hours and nothing was inspiring me, that is untill I came across some of the British brands, Hackett, Richard Anderson, Daks, Simon Carter, Stewart Gray, all these guys were superb.
